简介：

江家和杭家是苏州两个刺绣大户，专为皇帝缝制皇袍，由于竞争的关系，两家关系是美人如画
面和心不和。杭家长子杭景枫(高昊饰演）一直默默爱着江家千金江嘉沅（董洁饰演），但碍于家庭的关系，无法表白。
杭景枫的父亲多年前与苗族姑娘徐瑾偷欢时生下私生子徐恨（杜淳饰演）却把这个责任推给江嘉沅的父亲。
徐恨由舅舅徐雷带大，徐雷誓要为徐恨讨回公道，带徐恨来到苏州，在徐雷把江家搞得家破人亡的同时，江嘉沅也与徐恨产生了真挚的爱情，江嘉沅怀上了徐恨的骨肉。
这时徐雷告诉徐恨他与江嘉沅是亲兄妹，徐恨失手杀死了徐雷，自己也由此入狱。江嘉沅一个人带着徐恨的儿子艰难地生活，此时遇到了她生命中的第三个男人—一个有妻室的岭南富商方天羽（何晟铭饰演），他将她纳为偏室。
他的妻子起初无法接受江嘉沅，但最终被江嘉沅的诚心感动，临终前，同意将江嘉沅扶正，而两人结婚的当晚，徐恨十分落魄地回来了，告诉江嘉沅两人并不是亲兄妹
