《残酷史：花儿的战争》讲述了朝鲜时代为了爱情和权力自我堕落成恶魔的后宫女人们之间的争霸故事，该剧将接档《无子女便是福》于2013年3月23日首播。该剧在朝鲜仁祖时代的背景之下，少女文静舍弃自己的初恋情人，进入宫廷。在复杂的政治环境之下，在后宫中不择手段的生存。.贵人赵氏是在漂亮的外貌、天生的妖艳及聪颖的头脑下，迷惑仁祖后迅速提高身份，而争夺最高权力后人生逆转的人物。在夺得最高权位后，为保住其地位不惜杀害昭显世子，并不分手段和方法达成目的的阴险恶毒的人物。在仁祖死后，朝中大臣金自点意图拥立其子崇善君登上王位失败；她则因为被查出在家中埋藏诅咒之物而被废去贵人封号，后在孝宗二年被赐死。本片即以贵人赵氏一生为蓝本，讲述其与愍怀嫔姜氏、庄烈王后赵氏之间的残酷斗争。
